Perfectly imperfect antique signed French sculpture by Ernest Justin Ferrand (1846-1932). Titled “En Liberte” and most likely dates to the late Victorian period. Most (if not all) of his sculptures were done in bronze. It is very likely this is painted over bronze or possibly spelter since bronze isn’t brittle and she does have broken fingers. Sigh to whoever did that but it definitely gives it a certain unique and fantastically worn look. In pristine condition his sculptures can go in the thousands. Please examine all pictures for condition - she is missing a few fingers. Her imperfections only add to her charm! She’s signed and also has a plaque engraved with her name and artist.
