3 Antique French Creil et Montereau decorative small plates. Dating to the late 1890’s (based on makers mark) these small plates tell a story called assiettes parlantes. They illustrate the new technology discovered in the 19th century; silent movies, submarines, and cruise boats.
They are crackled and tea stained with the passage of time, free of cracks or chips. A charming aged red botanical border, the transferware wording and illustrations are in black. Great for display on a small shelf or in a cabinet.
